Baker Hughes: US Oil Rig Count Up 5 to 31-Week High
OAKHURST, N.J. (DTN) --- The number of rigs operational in the United States
drilling for oil rose by five to 511 as of today, the highest since the
week-ended Sept. 15, 2023, according to the latest Baker Hughes data. Versus
the same week a year ago, there are 80 less rigs in operation.
The data show the number of natural gas rigs in operation continued lower,
down by three on the week to 106, which is 53 below a year ago.
In Canada, Baker reports the number of oil rigs in operation dropped by 10
to 60 as of today, 18 more than the same week in 2023. The data show the
natural gas rig count declined by four to 67 on the week, up four from a year
earlier.
